El presidente de Ucrania, Volodímir Zelenski, declaró la ley marcial y cortó las relaciones diplomáticas con Moscú, tras la orden militar de Putin.
Ucrania confirmó 40 muertos, 10 eran civiles, tras los ataques de Rusia del jueves, informó el asesor de la Presidencia, Oleksiy Arestovich. Además, reportan la muertes de al menos 50 militares rusos.
El presidente de Ucrania, Volodímir Zelenski, tuiteó que las fuerzas de ocupación de Rusia están tratando de apoderarse de Chernóbil, al norte de Kiev.
Aseguró que los soldados ucranianos están sacrificando sus vidas para que no se repita la tragedia de 1986. “Esta es una declaración de guerra contra toda Europa”.
El presidente de Rusia, Vladímir Putin, dijo que la operación militar llevada a cabo en Ucrania era una medida necesaria. Según el mandatario, ante esta situación no había otra salida, y todos los intentos de Rusia de negociar con socios extranjeros en el campo de la seguridad tuvieron un resultado nulo. “No nos hemos movido ni un milímetro, ni un solo tema”, dijo Putin.
Putin ordenó la mañana del jueves, hora de Moscú, una “operación militar especial” en el Donbás, días después de haber reconocido la independencia de las autoproclamadas repúblicas de Donetsk y Lugansk.
Minutos después del discurso del jefe del Kremlin, emitido en todos los canales estatales rusos, se registraron grandes explosiones en varios puntos del este de Ucrania, desde Sloviansk y Kramatorsk a Járkov, a 30 kilómetros de la frontera rusa; incluso en Kiev, la capital.
El conflicto ha provocado que los ciudadanos de Ucrania sean desplazados y busquen huir en trenes y automóviles. El gobierno de Ucrania dijo que los tanques y las tropas rusas cruzaron la frontera en una “guerra a gran escala” que podría reescribir el orden geopolítico y cuyas consecuencias ya repercutieron en todo el mundo.
